Pisco

Pisco is an important port south of Lima, in the department Ica, with a population of about 90,000. It is a friendly historical city. Nearby Pisco is the luxury resort of Paracas on the Pacific coast, and the Península de Paracas (National Park) and the Islas Ballestas, known as important penguin resorts (yes, at this latitude!). Pisco is also known for the excellent liquor with the same name, which is extracted from local wines.
